Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was today joined by Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul and local project stakeholders for a “beam raising” ceremony to celebrate the installation of the first steel arch in the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) Terminal Entrance Canopy.

Traffic & Pedestrian Pattern Updates Passengers should expect lane reductions upon entering terminal property from Brooks Avenue.  A crane is onsite and the initial materials are being delivered for starting installation of terminal entrance canopy steel early next week. The Upper Level Departures roadway remains CLOSED until project completion at the end of October 2018.  All traffic must use the Lower Level Roadway for both Arrivals & Departures. Family and friends picking up passengers are highly encouraged to stage in the new Smart Phone Lot, to reduce curbside congestion

Terminal Update The contractors continue to construct the piers on the upper level departures roadway that will be the foundation for the new Terminal Entrance Canopy to be built upon. The newly relocated Hudson News store is now open in the center food court.  Additional temporary construction walls are being installed in the food court for future relocation of existing food concessions. The installation of fabricated steel to support the terminal expansion in the food court continues.

Terminal Update This week the Airport announced a partnership with The Strong Museum of Play to feature two interactive play zones at ROC as part of the ongoing revitalization project.  Click here to read the full announcement.  The newly relocated Hudson News store is projected to be open by the end of February. Hudson News Opens on Lower Level

The newly relocated Hudson News Store has opened on the lower level of the ROC Airport terminal.  The in-line shop is located near the center of the baggage claim and will be conveniently located across from the new passenger greeting area which will be under construction soon and is anticipated to open fall of next year.  The brand will also be opening a new Hudson Store post-security in the center of the food court as part of the ongoing terminal renovations.

Hudson News has been operating at ROC since 1999.

This week ROC hosted the Grand Opening of the new Airport Smart Phone lot. The lot is conveniently located before the terminal and features a large, digital flight information display so motorists arriving to pick up passengers can track arrivals. Thirty-one parking spaces are available along with an electric vehicle charging station.
